Future CWA standard on Methodology for data-driven management of production processes open for public commenting

The CEN and CENELEC Workshop Agreement (CWA) titled "Methodology for Data-Driven Management of Production Processes" from BIOMAT is now open for public comment.

The draft CWA introduces a methodology for the data-driven management of production processes from inception to operation, which allows the documentation of their lifecycle and the gaining of knowledge through its application. This document aims to help companies using data collected from industrial production processes to monitor and control them, as well as to make adjustments and improvements that speed up decision-making.

Key objectives of the Methodology include providing structured documentation of data related to observed parameters, materials, and the physical infrastructure equipment used in processes, data acquisition and analysis, with interfaces designed for extracting insights through charts or dashboards, and simulation capabilities, enabling the execution of models to anticipate outcomes before production initiation.

The development of this standard is being technically driven by ITG (Instituto Tecnológico de Galicia) and managed by UNE (Asociación Española de Normalización), both BIOMAT's partners.

Interested stakeholders are invited to review the draft CWA and submit their feedback by 18 August 2024 to the Workshop Secretary, Mr. Fernando Utrilla, using a commenting form available for download on the CEN-CELEC website.
